Ever wonder why we have since gravitated from the days of Comic Sans text and sparkly dividers? The answer: we are drawn to the aesthetic.

When it comes to your blog design, its ability to be visually appealing speaks volumes with regard to the success the blog will have. In the spirit of “we judge books by their covers,” so too do we assess the credibility of a blog by its layout and attractiveness. How To Avoid Distractions and Stay Focused as a Freelance Blogger

A big challenge for old and new freelance bloggers is avoiding distractions and staying focused.  This can be especially true for those that are in the “transition phase” where you might be working a day job while trying to build your business as a freelance writer or blogger.  That is a particularly difficult time where you might find yourself to tired on any given day to stay on a consistent schedule.  But those are the times to build good habits and stay focused.

When A WordPress Plugin Review Is Not a Review

A cursory search on Google (or your favorite search engine) for WordPress Plugin Reviews is going to yield a massive number of results.  I entered “wordpress plugin review” in Google and got over 17,000,000 results.  Narrow that down with a specific type of plugin and you might tighten things up a bit. Changing to “wordpress membership plugin review” still yielded more than 1.2 million results.  You might get similar results looking for a security plugin, backup plugin, and the list goes on.  That’s a good sized mountain of search results.  [Read more…]
