Last week I announced the beta release of WP-Members 2.8 at rocketgeek.com. The 2.8 release will offer many new features and has a rebuild of the admin panels that is now extensible by developers that want to hook into the plugin.
Review the link posted above for more information on the beta release and how to get it. We are currently on Release Candidate 4 and it looks like the full production release will be next week if testing on RC4 goes well.
All of the premium add-ons are getting a rebuild during this time as well. Some will be backward compatible, but 2.8 gives me the chance to add some new features to them as well. The MailChimp add-on should be ready for beta release about the same time as the production release of 2.8. The PayPal add-on will be close behind and that will be released as beta as well (currently it is available as alpha only).
As of the 2.8 release, I will officially be closing the comment sections on this blog where people have asked for support. Rocketgeek.com is the support site for the plugin. It does operate on a premium model, but with the number of requests that come in for help, I just cannot get to everyone. The answers to 99% of the questions that get asked here on this site can be found in the plugin’s documentation which is freely available (and quite extensive) here: http://rocketgeek.com/plugins/wp-members/
I’ll wrap up any open questions that are here on the blog, and will then close those threads to new comments. I will be leaving the threads intact for now because there is a lot of good information there, both in the form of questions and answers. So I don’t want to remove it as a resource.
