This is the first of what I intend to be a weekly feature post. It will be a compilation of some of the articles, design elements, development ideas, and content marketing insight that I have come across during the week. Once I get going, it should be out on Fridays, but I didn’t have this one ready to go until today.
Here is a great article by Lolly Daskal on Inc. about the difference between being a “boss” or a “leader.” Which would you rather be?
Allison Vesterfelt, author of “Packing Light” asks, “What if making a fool out of ourselves could actually work to our advantage?”
Chris Guillebeau has some thoughts on “counting the costs” before you begin. This is something that I will keep in mind for the future. I generally am a “do-er” and sometimes launch a new idea without doing enough thorough examination of some of these points. On the other hand, over-analyzing can lead to never getting started. So strike a good balance.
If you have been paying attention to the WordPress space recently, you may have heard about the new Rainmaker platform (if you haven’t, be sure to ask me about it. I am trying it out and it is quite awesome). Brian Clarke has done a great job of offering education along with Rainmaker in terms of a regular podcast. The most recent being “How to be Fascinating.”
On the Genesis development side of things, Brian Gardner has a post on SEO for Categories and Tags. The Genesis Framework makes this really easy (and effective). (And if you are hungry for more tutorials on the Genesis Framework, Brian has a whole category of new ones.)
OK, this post isn’t exactly from this particular week, it’s from last week. But since I was posting something about Brian Gardner, I thought I’d share his latest theme from StudioPress. It’s a new child theme for the Genesis Framework called Remobile Pro. It’s nice. It’s responsive. And it looks really good across mobile devices.
