A Tip for Writers: Avoid Procrastination with Multitasking

By Chad Butler Leave a Comment

My writing has recently focused on avoiding procrastination and removing distractions when freelancing and freelance writing.  If you are going to be successful as a writer with content marketing, you have to stay focused, on task, and keep your productivity high.  In short, you must constantly be writing.

So, you might find it a little odd that I recommend reading a post and incorporating a method that essentially allows you to surf the web while working as a writer.

But when my friend Michael Bunker posted this short article on how he actually works surfing into his workflow I thought it was brilliant!  Essentially, the concept is to keep your writing workspace open on one side of the screen and your surfing on the other.  That way you can drift between work and play as inspiration moves you.

It’s not going to work for everyone, but I think for the average writer it will give you a lot of freedom in your workflow and may quite possibly make you more productive.  The post is only about 350 words, so it’s a quick read and I’m sure you’ll get some good ideas from it:
