WP-Members 2.0 Migration Script Now Available

If you are using WP-Members 1.x and wish to migrate your users to a 2.0 installation, I have created a migration script for that purpose.

[ download the zip ]

To use the migration script:

Download and unzip the file wpmem-migration.zip
Backup your database!!
Save this file to your wordpress directory.
Browse to http://yourdomain.com/your-wp-directory/wpmem-migration.php
When you are finished, delete this file.

WP-Members 2.0 beta release

I have been done with the 2.0 release for some time now, but haven’t had the time to finish final testing (mostly of the installation process), put together the readme file, and get it uploaded.  I know there are a lot of people that have been waiting for this release so I sincerely hope it meets (and exceeds) expectations.

2.0 is a quantum leap forward for the plugin and involved a ground up rebuild.  There were a lot of quick fixes and work arounds in the 1.x releases and I never got it to be what I really wanted in the …

WP-Members 2.0 Example Post

I am pretty close to the release of WP-Members 2.0. The new version will integrate better with the WordPress users table and therefore will integrate with other plugins that use that same table (say a forum for example). This particular post is simply to provide an example post. Click the link below for the example of how this plugin protects content (For the demo, use username: user password: pass).

Well, I had Verse-O-Matic running pretty well with the 3.1.0 release. � There have been quite a few downloads and I have seen it popping up on sites around the blogosphere. � Thanks for support!�� It’s nice to see the work getting used out there.

Updates

Well, it is good to be finally getting everything moved over to the new site. It is a long process. The blog has developed some good search engine traffic that I do not want to lose, so I am using Angsuman’s Permanent Redirect plugin to set up permanent redirects for each post from the old domain. In order to speed things up, rather than use the WordPress admin to set the redirects, I am adding these to the postmeta table in the database directly via Navicat.
