Lose/Lose

Evidently, Mr. Kevin Barrett, Islamic studies lecturer at UW Madison believes there is a government coverup of the facts behind 9/11. He recently wrote a letter to Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle regarding this. Doyle has asked to University to determine whether Barrett is unfit to teach. Steve Nass, state representative from Whitewater, has called for Barrett’s firing.

Do nothing or let him stay and they encounter the wrath of those that think there is no place for conspiracy theory in higher education. Fire him and you label yourself an enemy of academic freedom and freedom of speech (never mind the fact …

Al Gore on “The Daily Show”

Al Gore was on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Wednesday night.   And it just seems that Al is getting more absurd with each passing day.   (Is he off his medication?)

I submit as evidence the fact that Al Gore asserted that he thinks he carried the state of Florida in 2000.   If that was truly the case, why did he concede the election?‚  If he truly thought he won, he had much more to gain by dragging things on. I guess he figured there’s more money to be made in producing movies than directing …

A Lesson in Jr. High Civics

I am disappointed in our Congress. They appearently need a refresher course in government and civics.

In a joint statement from Dennis Hastert and Nancy Pelosi, they had this to say:
The Justice Department was wrong to seize records from Congressman Jefferson’s office in violation of the Constitutional principle of Separation of Powers
Excuse me a second, but there is a reason we have a triune government - so that two branches of government can check the third. The Justice Departement (Executive Branch) received a warrant (from the Judicial Branch) to investigate wrongdoing by a member of the Legistative Branch. If that …

Our “Friend” to the South

In the Presidential Address this week, President Bush made reference to our “friend” to the south, Mexico.   Now, I liked a lot of what was proposed.   Certainly there are issues in his plan that could be picked apart, and others that maybe should be.   But on the whole, it was a huge step in the right direction.

But the whole “friend” thing…   well, that’s a problem.   The Mexican government has continued to support the illegal immigration that has been going on.   Why?‚  Pure economics.   The illegals send billions of US dollars back to Mexico …

Who lost?

After being sentenced to life in prison yesterday, Zacarias Moussaoui left the federal court room and shouted, “America, you lost!‚  I won!”‚  But did he really?

Moussaoui could have received the death penalty from the State.   Did he deserve to die?‚  By the laws set forth in our country, yes, he deserved death.   He knows it, America knows it.   That is why he chose to chide America with his “victory.”

But Moussaoui is not only a terrorist, but a radical Muslim.   To him, his greatest acheivement would have been to be martyred.   Receiving the death penalty from …
