WP-Members 2.0 Migration Script Now Available

If you are using WP-Members 1.x and wish to migrate your users to a 2.0 installation, I have created a migration script for that purpose.

[ download the zip ]

To use the migration script:

  • Download and unzip the file wpmem-migration.zip
  • Backup your database!!
  • Save this file to your wordpress directory.
  • Browse to http://yourdomain.com/your-wp-directory/wpmem-migration.php
  • When you are finished, delete this file.

I’m using wordpress 2.9.1 and page 5 of your “WP-members Quick Start Quide does not apply. i.e. there is no “write” tab etc etc. Can you provide an update as to how one can “set up the members page”?????

    Thanks

Thanks Mike – WP changed to a new admin panel with 2.7, so unfortunately, those screenshots are a bit out of date. But the steps and concepts are the same. With the new admin, posts and pages are separated and rather than “write,” you need to “add new.” If you have any other questions, feel free to give a shout. Hopefully, I’ll be updating the quick start guide soon.

Hello again! I’m afraid it’s more complicated then that. The only way you can get at the “Page Slug” is to make your page, publish it, then go back and “Quick edit” it. “Edit” doesn’t show you the “slug”. Anyhow…. I got it to work………… Now I’m working on getting a “new user registration” page. I can only get the not logged in page that shows both “existing users..” and “new users registration”…. If you have any ideas, let me know….thanks Mike Z

You actually can edit the page slug during the edit process. Once a draft is saved (either manual or automatic), you can edit the page slug. It is located between the page title and the body. You don’t have to publish.
