Well, I guess we can sleep at night

Based solely on the media coverage, one might believe that the most dangerous criminal in the world today is Scooter Libby. Apparently he is more dangerous than Osama bin Laden or Kim Jong Il. Now we can all sleep better knowing that the jury found him guilty of perjury. I almost feel like every tax dollar spent on this investigation was wisely appropriated.

I enjoyed this post on Neal Boortz’s site since it points out the obvious (to me anyway) fact that Sandy “The Pants” Berger did no time for stealing classified documents from the National Archives; and since they were supposedly destroyed, we will never know what he was trying to hide. But I digress… here’s the quote from Boortz:

According to federal sentencing guidelines, [Libby] can expect to do 1 to 3 years in the slammer for lying about something he had no reason to lie about. And while Scooter Libby is in the can, Sandy Burglar, who essentially committed treason by stealing classified documents, roams free. Nice to know the real criminals are going to jail.

I certainly have other opinions on this entire waste of taxpayer money, but lack the time to detail so I’ll just leave it at that.
