Unelectable

Unelectable. That’s what you are. Unelectable. [ sung to the tune of "Unforgettable" ]

I don’t mean to pick on John Edwards. I really don’t. But…

  1. He continues to put his own foot in it (making him an easy target)
  2. He honestly has no chance of securing the Democratic nomination; not against Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama

Now, the topic of this is only alleged. According to Variety, someone at a Hollywood town hall meeting with Edwards heard him say the following:

Perhaps the greatest short-term threat to world peace, Edwards remarked, was the possibility that Israel would bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Now think about this. Democrats want America to believe they are tough on defense, equipped to handle national security, with enough backbone to protect us from terrorism. The DNC needs a candidate that can win the election. That is what the primaries are all about. Picking the guy (or gal) that can beat “their guy.”

In order to secure the nomination, John Edwards would have to convince enough Democratic voters that he could beat whoever the GOP comes up with.

So here he stands and says that Israel taking out Iran’s nuclear facilities is the greatest short-term threat to world peace. Not Iran (a known state sponsor of terrorism) acquiring nuclear weapons. Not Al Qaeda getting their hands on a nuke. Not the North Korean crisis (you don’t think that has gone away for good, do you?). No. John Edwards thinks the greatest threat is Israel actually doing something to prevent an unstable rogue nation that thumbs its nose at the UN from getting The Bomb.

Nobody needs to “Swift Boat” this guy. He’ll do it himself.
