Democrats’ version of a joke

Well, the new Congressional majority has shown that it has a sense of humor. In what can only be construed as a joke, Louisiana Congressman William Jefferson has been granted a seat on the Homeland Security Committee.

What’s so funny about that?

Well, I recall we were promised the most ethical Congress in history.

Democrats will not disappoint We pledge to make this the most honest, ethical, and open Congress in history.

Unfortunately, Mr. Jefferson is under investigation for taking $100,000 in bribe money. With $90,000 in cash found stuffed in his freezer, things are looking a little strange for the Congressman. Now, we must say that the man is innocent until proven guilty. However, when the shoe is on the (right) foot (instead of the left), you are guilty until proven innocent.

So it can only be seen as a complete joke that Mr. Jefferson is granted this committee seat.
