Islamic Fascism and the Mid-term Elections
The defeat of Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut primary just reinforces my belief that the DNC has been hijacked by the extreme left. So extreme are these views that they are overlooking everything to focus on two things:
- Their opposition to the war on terrorism
- Their hatred of George Bush
This extremist view puts them in a position of putting party before country. (Incidentally, Ann Coulter has an interesting article that demonstrates that, from the above, 2 = 1. The Democrats would hate anyone, even a Democratic President, that would fight the war on terrorism. I don’t know that I agree, but you can decide for yourself.)
With the exception of his view on the war on terror (a war against Islamic Fascists), Lieberman embodied the Democratic message - he voted against Bush’s “tax cuts for the rich,” against banning partial-birth abortion, against confirming Alito, against ANWR drilling, and he was in favor of the Kyoto Accords. Yet, a little slick talk from an anti-war candidate and the voters dumped Lieberman like day old bagels.
Take heed voters: this “anti war” crowd is dangerous for our future. Everything that is happening in the Middle East right now is very well calculated. Iran knows exactly what it is doing. They understand the fickleness of the modern media so, whether you believe they are directly involved in the Hezbollah/Israeli conflict or not, they stand to gain from its continuation. It has not only moved Iran off the front page news, it has also pulled the focus of the UN Security Council.
As you watch Iran through all of this, keep this clichƒ© in the back of your mind - “Actions speak louder than words.” A shining example will be what happens this month. On Sunday, CBS will air a 60 Minutes interview with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. In this interview, he makes the following statement:
And they (U.S.) don’t want to live side-by-side in peace with other nations.
The American government, sir, it is very clear to me they have to
change their behavior and everything will be resolved. (George W. Bush)
believes that his power emanates from his nuclear warhead arsenals. The
time of the bomb is in the past, it’s behind us. Today is the era of
thoughts, dialogue and cultural exchanges.
Now, that is what he says. But what is he doing? He is pursuing “the bomb” even though he says its time has past. And his idea of an era of thoughts and dialogue? He has called for the destruction of Israel and in reference to the current conflict, stated “the main solution is for the elimination of the Zionist regime.” How’s that for “cultural exchanges”? His actions are to pursue nuclear weapons and to supply Hezbollah with weapons, training, and troops in order to continue their fight with Israel.
You may have noticed that I referred to this as a war against Islamic fascism. That is what it is, regardless of what CAIR (Council for American Islamic Relations) tells you. I was glad to finally hear this term used out in the open by the President yesterday. Not surprisingly, this was immediately met with a response from CAIR.
CAIR is upset that the President used the term Islamic Fascism. They “believe this is an ill-advised term and we believe that it is counter-productive to associate Islam or Muslims with fascism.” Unfortunately, the facts don’t lie. Virtually every terrorist attack that I am aware of was done in the name of Islam. When using the term Islamic Fascism, “Islamic” is an adjective of “Fascism.” Now, I am sure that not every Muslim you run into on the street is a fascist. But the fact is, these terrorists are all committing their acts in the name of Allah and they want one thing, and one thing only - a world that is a Muslim Theocracy, or death to all Muslims. If CAIR has a problem with the reality of the terminology, maybe they should be focusing on getting Al Qaeda to be more of a moderate group. But CAIR shows their loyalty when they choose to ask “public officials to restrain themselves” instead of condemning terrorism. Remember this phrase?
Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists. - George W. Bush, Address to a Joint Session of Congress and the American People, September 20, 2001
Syndicated talk radio host Neal Boortz puts Islamic fascism in concise terms:
A quick check of Dictionary.com finds this definition of fascism: “A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.” Sound familiar? Let’s see….Iran…Syria….Iraq under Saddam Hussein…The Taliban….and on and on. Fascism is what these terrorists who were trying to blow up the planes yesterday ultimately want for every country. Total Islamic domination, in other words, a theocracy.
These extremists cannot be appeased. They view this as a sign of weakness to be exploited. They wait patiently for the optimal time to strike. They show no value for human life. Their religious beliefs do not allow them to live in harmony with those of other faiths - your choice is convert or be killed.
The results of the Connecticut primary indicate this mid-term election may well be a referendum on the war against Islamic Fascism and the future security of this nation.
