The U.N. Continues to Disappoint
U.N. Deputy Secretary-General Mark Malloch Brown continues
to show why the U.N. can’t win the hearts and minds of
He was quoted in a British newspaper on Wednesday stating that Hezbollah is not
a terrorist organization. This is about as intelligent a statement as
some of his comments last month criticizing “
America
Wow! Way to win friends Mark. It might be time to do a little soul
searching. Actually, make that “book searching;” and by
that I mean take a look at your books and find out who is paying your
salary. The majority of the cash that rolls into your organization’s
coffers comes out of the pockets of the very Americans you are quick to
criticize. No wonder they can’t stand you.
Consider this: I don’t tip well at a restaurant where I get poor
service. If the wait staff insulted me, they could expect $0 for a tip
(actually, I’d leave a few pennies so they would realize it wasn’t that I
merely forgot). Here’s another scenario for you, Mark: I donate to
an organization after being sold on the good work they do. After the
organization fails to accomplish its task, I speak out about how I feel change
might be necessary. Then an official of the organization publicly states
that I am ignorant of what the organization is doing and that I should not
criticize them. How much of a check do you think I would be writing
during the next fundraising rally?
When I contribute money to your cause, I have purchased the right speak out
when I feel that my money was not well spent. However, if you desire to
continue receiving funds from me, you need to carefully consider your response
to that criticism.
