Boston’s Bottomless Hole (Big Dig)
The Big Dig is a huge scam. Now it’s a scam the has killed someone. Maybe you don’t live in Boston, or Massachusetts for that matter. Should you be concerned (other than the fact that someone died)?
You’d better believe it. You should be stark raving mad. The kind of mad that makes you jump up and down, shaking your fists, and vowing to call your Congressman.
This giant ripoff was budgeted at a cost of $2.5 billion dollars back in 1985. It has an ongoing current price tag of $15 billion, more than half of which has come from the federal tax payer. And appearently, this entire project has been skimmed by everyone from labor unions, contractors, and politicians.
The original bill was vetoed by Ronald Reagan but a Democratic Congress overrode it. And everytime the project ran over budget, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry were there to reach into the back pocket of the American taxpayer and open their wallets.
That’s something to think about if you voted for one of these clowns.
Finally, Mitt Romney has taken control of the situation, something he’s been trying to do since he took office. Too bad someone had to die in order for the rest of Massachusetts to take notice.
