Al Gore on “The Daily Show”

Al Gore was on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Wednesday night.   And it just seems that Al is getting more absurd with each passing day.   (Is he off his medication?)

I submit as evidence the fact that Al Gore asserted that he thinks he carried the state of Florida in 2000.   If that was truly the case, why did he concede the election?‚  If he truly thought he won, he had much more to gain by dragging things on. I guess he figured there’s more money to be made in producing movies than directing policy.

As if that were not enough, Gore made the assertion that global warming ¢â‚¬Å“is the only crisis we’ve ever faced that has the capacity to completely end human civilization,” to which Stewart responded, ¢â‚¬Å“Nuclear’s got a shot. The bomb’s got a shot.¢â‚¬‚  OK, if global warming is a fact, it would have the capacity to end human civilization.   But his response to the nuclear statement shows how out of touch with reality he is:

¢â‚¬Å“Well, when we had the prospect of an all-out nuclear exchange, yes, but even that would not have necessarily caused the kind of radical transformation of the whole planet’s environment in a way that was unstoppable.¢â‚¬

HUH?‚  A nuclear exchange would not have caused radical transformation of the planet’s enviornment?‚  It is precisely those types of preposterous statements that make it impossible to take anything he says seriously.
