wp-members plugin beta release
Well, it is finally here - kind of. Here is the 1st beta release of my WordPress membership plugin. This plugin is designed for setting up a membership-based site where you are only allowing logged in site members to access posts and feeds. It handles site members aside from the WordPress users and utilizes additional fields for contact info (address, email, phone, etc.).
There is an admin panel for this plugin where you can manage the site members - add new members, search members, view the entire list, sort by various criteria.
Also, the required database tables self install upon plugin activation.

A Lesson in Jr. High Civics
I am disappointed in our Congress. They appearently need a refresher course in government and civics.
In a joint statement from Dennis Hastert and Nancy Pelosi, they had this to say:
The Justice Department was wrong to seize records from Congressman Jefferson’s office in violation of the Constitutional principle of Separation of Powers
Excuse me a second, but there is a reason we have a triune government - so that two branches of government can check the third. The Justice Departement (Executive Branch) received a warrant (from the Judicial Branch) to investigate wrongdoing by a member of the Legistative Branch. If that …
A bit of housekeeping (read: attn comment spammers)
All comments on this blog are moderated.
Now if you have a legitimate comment, please post it. I do not moderate comments to prevent posts from people that don’t agree with me. If you have a differing view, that’s fine - post away. All I ask is that you respond intelligently and avoid profanity. (However, I do reserve the right to reference and debate alternative views - but hey, it’s my blog and I pay the bills. At least I’ll let you have your say.)
I require registration to post, but this is a private blog, your email …
Loony
Helen Thomas.
In case you don’t know who she is, she is the fossil of the White House press corps. She absolutely despises and loathes George W. Bush and consistently shows a complete lack of respect for the current administration. Having her seat moved to the back of the room (which I found to be very entertaining) has made her all the more fiesty.
So get this - the USA Today report on the NSA collecting phone records (wording is key here, so pay attention), seems to be fabricated. Bellsouth and AT&T, 2 of the 3 companies named in the report, have …
Our “Friend” to the South
In the Presidential Address this week, President Bush made reference to our “friend” to the south, Mexico. Now, I liked a lot of what was proposed. Certainly there are issues in his plan that could be picked apart, and others that maybe should be. But on the whole, it was a huge step in the right direction.
But the whole “friend” thing… well, that’s a problem. The Mexican government has continued to support the illegal immigration that has been going on. Why?‚ Pure economics. The illegals send billions of US dollars back to Mexico …
