The Economics of the Race Warlords
I highly suggest you read “Showtime at Coretta Scott King’s Funeral” by Larry Elder on townhall.com.
Listening to speaker after speaker complain about the poor conditions under which minorities live, one wonders whether Martin Luther King Jr. accomplished anything at all.
But then Elder points out success after success, and describes some of the wealth and achievement of various black Americans. He also discusses the various copyright lawsuits brought forth by the King family for use of the “I Have A Dream” speech - suits they settled for millions. I don’t know about you, but there is a …
New Site Member Plugin In Development
I am currently working on a new plugin that will run a site membership database well beyond the “protected post” feature built into Wordpress. This grew out of a need for another site that I run and we have been working Wordpress into the site to eventually replace the “home-grown” content management that we currently use (and developed).
However, this site has some pretty advanced membership functions as the site has a newsletter/membership for-profit business model and there were no existing plugins for WordPress (that I could find, anyway) that did what we were looking for. I did, however, …
Verse-O-Matic Upgrade in the Works
I am working on an upgrade to Verse-O-Matic 3.0. It will include features that were originally intended to be in the 3.0 release, but due my impatience, I left them out so I could get 3.0 out the door.
Some of the features include setting a “Verse of the Day” (VOTD) as opposed to the random selection every page load that it does currently. The VOTD feature can be set to either reset itself randomly each day or you can set each verse with a date so you can display specific verses on a daily schedule. You will …
More Homemade Gas
Seems that with today’s skyrocketing gas prices, my small post on “Homemade Gas” has been fairly popular. It’s not getting the most direct traffic, but it is getting consistent traffic from web searches. Not surprising as, even as gas has come back from $3, I am sure that anyone with an SUV still feels like vomiting everytime they fill their tank.
Check out biodiesel.org and journeytoforever.orgAlso, I’ve been looking at the E85 fuels which are quite interesting. E85 is an 85% grain based ethanol blend. While cars and trucks that use the E85 don’t seem to get any …
Fighting Senility
When one speaks of failed presidents, often the first name that comes to mind is Jimmy Carter. Rarely does a president fail in both foreign AND domestic policy. Yet Carter managed to do it. Now somehow he believes that a new generation might be too young to remember that he was a complete failure.
So he goes around blasting his country’s government for its treatment of enemy combatants, of its environmental policies, of economic policies (that one in itself is just laughable), and now, he has the gall to come out and rebuke the President for domestic spying:
Under the …
