Bryant Gumbel - Racist
Bryant Gumbel, reporting from the Winter Olympics in Torino, had this to say about the games:
“Count me among those who don’t care about [the Olympics] and won’t watch them… So try not to laugh when someone says these are the world’s greatest athletes, despite a paucity of blacks that makes the winter games look like a GOP convention.”
Now that’s class.
Gumbel is a racist, pure and simple, and is unable to look beyond the color of skin and acknowledge talent, choosing to equivocate “the only reason you won the gold is that you didn’t have to compete against a black man.”‚ Appearently, in Gumbel’s world, there is a sign on the door of the Olympic Bobsled Training facility that says “No Colored.”
But that’s not really the point of this jab, is it?‚ We all see he wanted to get a political dig in… a dig against a party that received a bigger percentage of the black vote in this last election than any election in history; a party that provided the first black Secretary of State as well as the first black woman Secretary of State; a party that now has three front runner gubenatorial candidates that just happen to be black. Read this article by former Clinton advisor Dick Morris entitled “A Bigger, Blacker GOP” to see what I mean.
And people say there’s no media bias?‚ I hold Bryant Gumbel up as “Exhibit A”
