What a Week It’s Been

Some very rich and entertaining stuff in the news this week.   Here are some highlights:

Remember Harry Reid as he claimed the Abramoff scandal is a GOP scandal, how he (Reid) never took any money from Abramoff?‚  Remember how we all listened to that statement and said, “Yeah, right?”‚  The plot sickens… Reid Aided Abramoff Clients, Records Show - Yahoo! News

And Jonah Goldberg wrote a rich piece on townhall.com about the current mess the Democrats are in… and how they just keep digging the hole deeper.   My favorite quip from the article was:

Some Democrats are furious that their party doesn’t have its own ideas. Others say they do have ideas; they’re just keeping them secret for now. That sounds a lot like the high school geek who insists that his girlfriend is really hot but lives in an undisclosed location in Canada.

Appearently, the Democrats think that the only thing they need to win their races is to be against Bush.   Sorry kids, but that just doesn’t cut it with the Americans that actually pay attention to what their governmental representatives are doing - a.k.a. the swing voters. You are going to have to come up with much better than that.   Here’s the story: One sorry mess of a party

And how about the Corretta Scott King funeral?‚  Does anyone in the Democratic Party have an ounce of couth and decorum anymore?‚  I don’t know about you, but I find a funeral to be a memorial service for the deceased, not an opportunity to voice your “No Iraqi WMD” mantra.   What does that have to do with anything that King stood for?‚  It seems no ground remains sacred anymore and I for one am sickened by this behavior.   But I digress…   For some more insight on this behavior (acceptable or unacceptable - depending on your view), read A higher calling by David Limbaugh.

And in lesser news, Cindy Sheehan has announced that she will not challenge Diane Feinstein.   Am I disappointed?‚  You better believe it.   Think of the endless stream of material I would have had to write about.

I am currently in the process of adding tags to all legacy (pre-WP 2.3) posts. Not all posts have them yet, so this area may be empty
