Speaking of Ted…

An alternate title for this might have been, “Pot. Meet Kettle.” On Meet the Press this week, Ted Chappaquiddick Kennedy blasted the White House over ethics and stated that we need a “cleaning of the White House.”

Personally, I think more good would be done with a cleaning of the Senate. Ted Kennedy blasting the President over ethics? PAHLEASE! Is there anyone in America that can actually take that seriously? I mean, this is a man who was expelled from Harvard for cheating. And the cover-up of Chappaquiddick - was that a demonstration of Ted’s impecable ethics?

I have to hand it to Tim Russert, though. When he asked Kennedy who should be cleaned out, the response was, of course, Karl Rove. Russert stated, “But he hasn’t been charged with a crime.” The best Kennedy could come up with was, “He should leave, though. He’s being investigated at this present time.” Where’s the logic in that? Kennedy didn’t leave office when he was being investigated for the death of Mary Jo Kopechne.

As I have said before, in Washington, you are not innocent until proven guilty. You are not even guilty until proven innocent. Once an investigation ensues, you may as well pack your bags and get out of Dodge.

If you haven’t examined the evidence from Chappaquiddick, I encourage you to visit Y Ted K.com [http://www.ytedk.com/]. This site has a great timeline of events and great documentation of the entire scandal. It also has links to other Kennedy scandals of interest.

Ethics? Kennedy? The two go together like oil and water.

Ted, no one I know of takes you seriously. Do us all a favor and retire.
