New Book Ticks Off Liberals

I recall that when “It’s Just a Plant” came out, those that were outraged were told to calm down. Get a grip. It’s just a plant after all, and it’s just a book. So one would think that when a book comes out called “Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed” that they would take a little dose of their own medicine with dignity. But…

MSNBC host Ron Reagan was incensed over the book and scolded DeBrecht on his cable television show. Fox News host Alan Colmes claimed the book exists for the purpose of “brainwashing.” Democratic Underground, a popular liberal Web site, named DeBrecht to its “Top 10 Conservative Idiots” list. And Daily Kos, the most trafficked left-wing blog, likened the book to Nazi propaganda. [full story]

Sorry Ms. DeBrecht, but you’re probably going to get about as much screen time to promote this as Bernie Goldberg. But I’ll still buy a copy for my kids. Why? Because it’s funny, that’s why. Brainwashing kids? Get real. My kids have “Rainbow Fish” and I don’t think that is going to brainwash them into being socialists or communists. Likewise, I highly doubt this book will brainwash them into voting Republican for the next 1st grade class president.
