Understanding
I have devoured a couple of C.S. Lewis books this week - “The Screwtape Letters” and “The Great Divorce“. As I read them, I began to understand how little understanding I had of the true nature of spiritual things. And it was through this understanding of not understanding that I was finally able to understand.
Also, for material that was written over a half century ago, I found it quite relevent, even today. Reading these two books will give you insight into good & evil, right & wrong, and …
You Can’t Live With Wishy-Washiness
Since I am on the subject of the growing persecution of anything Christian in the United States, here is an interesting story from Bill O’Reilly about the importance of the battle against secularism.
This is an important time to take a stand.
Persecution of the Day
First we were ignorant dopes. So now we are “anti-science extremists.” Check out “Intelligent Design pushed by anti-science extremists.” Fine by me. It seems to be the flavor of the day. For a party that portrays itself as the champion of tolerance and acceptance, we must realize that means everyone - all races, sexual orientations, and religions, with the exception of Christians. Instead, Christians are now grouped in to some kind …
Late Post on Live8
I meant to post this a long time ago (well, it seems like a long time ago). Back when “Live8″ was happening, I was seriously so offended by the absolute gall of some geriatric rockers to tell my government that they should confiscate more money from its citizens to dump into the absolute mess that is the African continent.
Now before you start calling me an insensitive, greedy so-and-so, take a step back and look at this situation realistically. Most of the problem areas of Africa are the way they are because some greedy, power-hungry dictator has taken over and completely …
