Politics and Current Events
I had, up to now, avoided commenting on political events. While it is something that I have strong opinions on, I just felt that somethings were better left untouched. In my post on Billy Graham, I referenced why I respected his avoidance of the subject. From an evangelistic standpoint, this still seems to me a good policy.
But forces are at work in the world that require some of us to speak out. Those with opposing views are not sitting by idly and keeping their mouths shut. Rather, they are organized and vocal. And if they get their way, they will stamp out Christianity all together. I can no longer sit back and allow this to happen.
Now, that doesn’t mean I think we should live in a theocratic society either. There is a right and wrong approach to this and it is a fine line. Frankly, people like Randall Terry go to far, giving the rest of us a bad name. That guy is a nut case and his open call for a theocracy in America scares away many of those that could be saved. This is a similar, but opposite effect as extreme leftist liberals like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid scare the swing voters to the right.
So, in the spirit of doing it the right way, I am going to change the focus of this blog. That will have a side-effect of providing me and endless supply of material, as I have much more to say on these topics. I’ll move the other, more personal nature stuff into a separate blog.
Oh, and if you are wondering what really set me off, it was the signs that the American Atheists held up in their display after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on so-called “separation of church and state” issues yesterday. The signs that got to me? “One Nation Under the Constitution!” While I agree that the Supreme Court should focus on interpreting Constitutionality of legislation, they’ve pushed to far. The whole “separation of church and state” has been miscontrued, misinterpreted and misused. In short, it has been abused. Maybe an explanation of that would be in order. Maybe that will be my next post.

Hi,
Is your websites theme available for download? I really like it and would like to use it for my own. Of course I would change the image and all that to be more like my site, but would pretty much keep it the same.
Let me know.
Chris
